Rapid consumption habits lead to rapid depletion of natural resources and environmental degradation. Therefore, waste management and recycling projects are critical for a sustainable future. Waste reduction and reuse both minimize environmental impacts and provide economic benefits. In this context, Hal Kolektif aims to develop Sinop Hal Meeting Center as a cultural production center focused on upcycling/recycling. In line with this aim, it aims to increase ecological awareness in the city with its “In Place and Together” project with an international design and art approach.
“In Place and Together” is one of the main projects of Sinopale, the International Sinop Biennial, which will take place for its ninth edition in October this year. Within the scope of the project, Sinop's waste inventory was created. Utilizing this inventory, Hal Kolektif prototypes prototypes by developing design products of Sinop with Sinop's waste, which is one of the production models of the project.
