C. G. Jung’s exploration of the collective unconscious reveals the spirit seeking its stories within fables and myths. Symbols lurking in the shadows offer clues lost in consciousness, reminding us of the unknown. One of the lowly is a tale that pursues transformation; in an infinite cycle, everything is reborn.
The depths of the Phrygian Valley belong to Kybele; she is a force that resurrects and gives birth from destruction. Once, she sent a piece of herself underground, but the earth always calls it back. Two women reflect one another; these characters represent consciousness and the unconscious as they wander through the rocky chambers, discovering themselves. A dormant spirit follows the traces of another awakening spirit, lost between words, where every object presents infinite possibilities.
The serpent lying in the darkness symbolizes primal nature; it is the part Kybele is ashamed of. The serpent Ofiyon signifies vitality and creativity. These two characters, rising to the surface and diving into the depths, together form the fragments of the whole.
At the point of their encounter, water and mountains, rivers and lakes come to life. The stairways of the mind symbolize doors opening to light, carrying the courage to descend into the depths of the unconscious. Kybele’s tale of transformation echoes in the rhythm of the universe, as the cycle of creativity and life continues as an endless story.
