UNDO-REDO is a project that invites rethinking the concepts of sustainability and the circular economy. It parallels the transformation process with the daily collection activities of Sinop's waste collectors, emphasizing the idea that seemingly discarded clothes can become valuable resources. Knitted garments are deconstructed back into their original yarn form. This process mirrors the story of Sinop’s waste collectors, who breathe new life into discarded items by gathering them from streets and giving them a second life.
UNDO-REDO revolves around the deconstruction of old knitted garments into yarn, which is then reused to create new forms. This process is based on the circularity of materials, allowing them to be reused in new products. Each garment enters a potentially endless cycle of transformation.
The yarn obtained from deconstructed sweaters is used in new designs and creative projects, gaining sustainable meaning and existence. This cycle allows the yarn to be re-evaluated for different purposes and utilized across various lifetimes.
