Dark Core of Perception

Great cities are not the individual dreams of those who follow them, but rather their collective dream. In this sense, Özdemir focuses on the diminishing aspect of the great water presence, inviting us to re-experience time through the dreamy and fluid nature of water, while trying to establish a connection between the flow of light and water. Tarkovsky said that artistic expression "must arise from an inner necessity, from an organic process within the material as a whole." Özdemir's creative trajectory navigates the line between the dreamlike and the lost reality of the right to life. Looking at the landscape produced by our perception, which binds these two lines together, Özdemir bears witness to the temporal existence of natural images and makes visible their departure with a farewell, their lamentations reflected through diminishing, shrinking, separating, and distancing images.
