Plastic waste
The waves of the sea, both big and small, continue to bring countless displaced waste to the shores. As we look at these pieces of waste, tangled with sand and soil, we often turn a blind eye to them, perhaps out of shame. Just like an unwanted thought, the waves keep bringing these "unwanted" objects to the shore, even though they don't wish to.
Together with 10 people, we walked along the shore, collecting the "unwanted" items that the waves carried and humans discarded. Later, we sorted and classified what we found according to their origin, materials, and stories.
While cleaning, sorting, sewing, and gluing the objects people discarded in a second, we touched them many times. Of course, with just a workshop, we cannot clean the seas or save the world. But for a day, we can try to confront the waste we want to erase and engage with it.
