Elke Falat, is an independent curator. She lives and works in Berlin ad is Co-Curator of the art space LoBe (London Berlin)
She graduated in cultural studies at the University of Hildesheim and studied Médiation Culturelle at Université Marseille in France as well. She worked for Documenta11 (2002) in Kassel in the educational program and from 2006 to 2009 as lecture at University of Hildesheim in the department of visual art. During this time she was director of the Kunstverein Hildesheim, as well. Among other exhibitions she did following international group shows: Garden City. Art and urban Gardens (2009), Dear artist tell me- Art and Radio Play( Co-Curated by Julia Tieke) (2008), Observing beast, time, evolution (Co-Curated by Sabine Mila Kunz) (2008), Focus Egypt / Past/present (2007).
Elke Falat was selected as a participating curator for the Gwangju Biennale International Curator Course in 2009; in 2010 she received a research grant from Gyeonggi Creation Center, South Korea. In 2011 Elke Falat was invited by Goethe Institute Bangalore as resident curator for three months. She was researching on sustainability, urban green and urban gardening in Bangalore.
