Especially active in photography, Yann Pocreau has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Canada and in Europe. Among others: Québec Gold, presented in 2008 in Reims, France (curators: André-Louis Paré, Elisabeth Pawlowsky, and Jean-Michel Ross), his solo exhibition Exercices d’empathie, presented at Espace Bortier in Brussels in 2008, Expansion, held at the galerie de l’UQAM (curators: Louise Déry and Audrey Genois), Ces artistes qui impriment, presented in 2010 at the Bibliothèque Nationale du Québec (curator: Gilles Daigneault), the 2011 Mois de la photo à Montréal (curator Anne-Marie Ninacs) and numerous participations in the Toronto International Art Fair.
His work has been reproduced and written about in many magazines (CV, Canadian Art, Spirale, OVNI, Next Level-UK, etc.). He has written for various specialized journals, galleries and exhibition centres, and he penned the catalogue text (forthcoming) for the exhibition Casser l’image; Gwenaël Bélanger, which he also curated. His works are part of the permanent collection of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Collection Prêt d’œuvres d’art of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the National Bank of Canada collection, the Hydro-Québec collection, the Musée d’art de Joliette and several private collections.
Since 2009, he is general coordinator of the Centre d’art et de diffusion CLARK, and a member of the RCAAQ board. He has been on the editorial committee of the magazine esse arts + opinions since 2007. Yann Pocreau was born in Quebec City in 1980. He lives and works in Montreal.
